Peak Walks

"Over the Doorstep" / "durch's Tor" (2033m.)
We walk underneath the Dachstein south wall with its imposing 3000 ft high rock walls. We slightly ascend over some rocky terrain before we start the ascend towards the "Tor" (door). When we got through the "door" we go down to the Bachalm.
You can also book it without the "Sunrise".

Gerzkopf (1728m.)
The trail that leads to the Gerzkopf winds through an original landscape. Through fairytale forests and fields of mountain pine, we'll find the moor lakes of the Gerzkopf. This landscape is unique in Salzburgerland and is an European Nature Reserve. Beautiful views await us at the top; Gosaukamm, Bischofsmütze and High Tauern are just a few to mention.

Rettenstein (2247m.)
This mountain is the highest mountain in our region which can be walked. Although you need your hands on some parts, it isn't a “climbing mountain”. The crossing of the Rettenstein is for the experienced walker who doesn't suffer from vertigo.

Rossbrand (1770m.)
Over the Dr.März-trail, we walk through trees till we come near the top where the views widen up and we look down at the other side of the Rossbrand. After a brake at the Radstädtr hut, we walk down over the Karalm back to Filzmoos.

Sulzenschneid (1990m.)
Standing on the Sulzenschneid, we have very good views on the Bischofsmütze, Rettenstein and the Dachstein. This quiet walk goes mainly over high pastures with small streams.

Walking in blue, red and black
A small aid in choosing the right tour fitting your condition, technique and age.

BLUE: easy walking paths, approximately 2 hours walking till the next Hut. Mostly not more than 1200 ft ascending r descending.

RED: intermediate walks, with more than 2 hours till the next hut. Partialy over small and steep paths. Maximum ascending or descending 2500 ft. Suitable for everybody with the right boots.

BLACK: Mountain trips or difficult walks, mostly over 4 hours till the next hut. Mostly on small and steep paths. You need to be secure in your steps and not suffer from vertigo. Suitable for experienced walkers with the right equipment.

Equipment

walking boots, backpack packed with enough to drink, raincover en perhaps a little snack.
